SEBASTIAN SCHUG. DIRECTOR.
 
Born in 1979 in Leverkusen, Germany. He graduated with honors from the Ernst Busch Academy of Directing in Berlin in 2004. During his studies he also attended a workshop with Peter Zadek. For his Diploma Production of Lorca's „As 5 years go by“ he was awarded as best upcoming director by the German Academy of the performing Arts. He directed plays at Sophiensaele Berlin and a student project at the Royal Academy of Theatre in Glasgow. He became a resident Director at the Theatre Heidelberg and started directing in Germany (Staatsschauspiel Dresden, Staatsschauspiel Hannover, Staatstheater Kassel, etc.) and Austria (Volkstheater Wien, Schauspielhaus Graz, etc.). His works include the inaugural production of „wohnen.unter glas“ by Ewald Palmetshofer at Schauspielhaus Wien and the German premiere of the Pulitzer Prize winning play THE FLICK by Annie Baker. Among his latest works was THE IMPORTANCE OF BEING EARNEST by Oscar Wilde, which he translated into German himself and emphasized on the queer and camp aspects of the play. The production got invited to the 2020 Bavarian Theatre Festival. In 2022 hw directed the inaugural production of LIBERTÉ OH NO NO NO by Anja Hilling at Schauspiel Frankfurt and the 7 hour epic THE INHERITANCE by Matthew Lopez at THEATER MÜNSTER.
